WFH or WTF !!!

I have been working from home since last 2 months and I was raving about it in the beginning and i still continue do but as this activity is progressing everyday, I can also see the downsides of working from home, in the long run. Through the use of humour & cartoons,  I wanted to highlight few of the risks but first the awesomeness -

1.No COMMUTE:- It's the start of a brand new day, and we're off like a herd of turtles or cattle, depending on our mode of travel.Work from home means travelling time saved that can be spent on doing what you like to do, money saved on travelling can be  spent elsewhere & less pollution outside. Amazing, isn't it ?

2. FLEXIBLE schedule :-  No need to compulsorily spend long hours in our cubicles staring at neon bulbs even after completing our work 'light years' ago because the work etiquette forces you to do 8+ hours shift OR just because your other pale colleagues are doing the same OR they are in the same situation, just like you. Who knows ??
Scarier, isn't it ?

3.Fewer MEETINGS:- Majority of the meetings in the corporate world are unnecessary, soul-sucking and painful. And the impromptu gatherings happen randomly to make our lives even worse. Work from home means fewer & more effective meetings. Nobody wants to be on a call for a straight 1 hour when it can be done in 15 minutes. Fewer interruptions means better productivity. WHOA !!

4. No office POLITICS  - As we can never chose 'who our relatives will be', in the same way we can never chose who our co-workers will be. You know what I'm saying ! Office politics can be very taxing. You can totally avoid this when you are working from home and that i feel this is a BONUS.

THE RISKS
↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓

1. STRESS on Relationships - While working from home, there is no one to go & talk to except your partner. Boredom slowly 'creeps' in by being together 24*7 that causes more harm than good in a relationship.

2. Loss of ROUTINES - One doesn't follow a regimen as there is no urgency to be on time anywhere. People tend to 'overwork' as they lose track of time and due to this are not able to set time for anything outside of work.
3. DISTRACTIONS & more distractions - We chose work from home so that we can work in peace and the exact opposite happens and on top of it if you have kids, working from home is more of a pain in the bottom than a blessing. I am yet to come on Netflix, You Tube, news etc. etc. (You know what i am talking - work tends to take a backseat).

4. Your OFFICE can forget that you exist - This can happen, especially for the back-office operations people where the work keeps getting done but nobody knows who is doing it.

5. RANDOM 'urges', anytime in the day-  Do i need to say anything more ? 😝😂😂

TO ADAPT IS THE NEW NORMAL

Presently, the majority of us would be unaware of today's date and day. Such are the times. Each day is getting dragged monotonously, not only for those people who are not working from home but also for people who are doing meaningless (mostly) and stressful work from their homes. Right now, we are experiencing the most uncertain times in the history of mankind and merely ‘binge watching’ on Netflix won’t ease the pain of being confined to our homes 24*7. We are still looking at another month or 2 of lockdown ahead of us. So, how do we cope? I have come-up with a couple of ideas from my own experience of being isolated since last 2 months - 1. Stop ‘over-thinking’ & worrying. This will take us nowhere; rather it will make matters worse. How do we distract our minds then? I would suggest setting yourself in some sort of a routine in the weekdays (From Monday – Friday) – like getting up every morning at the same time and doing similar activities through out the day an...
