India beat archrivals Pakistan by five runs at the bull ring on Monday to lift the inaugural twenty20 world cup.The Indian team, which was virtually written off even before a ball was bowled showed great character under new captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The playing X1, for a change gelled like a team and came up with a breathtaking performance to help India register the most famous victory over their sub continent rivals till date. But for me the stand out player for India in the tournament would be Gautam Gambhir who led the team with his solid and composed innings in the middle overs match after match He offered the much needed support in the middle overs, when wickets came tumbling down at the other end and the ever improving R.
